Kerr’s biggest takeaway from winless trip? ‘Losing sucks’ originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Things haven’t been easy recently for coach Steve Kerr and his Warriors.
Without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and other key veterans Monday night, a short-handed Golden State team was defeated 131-124 by the Denver Nuggets. It marked the Warriors’ fifth straight loss, and their ninth defeat in the last 11 contests.
Golden State ventured out on its four-game road trip with high hopes. After splitting the first two games back from the All-Star break, the Warriors hit the road only to lose in convincing fashion to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and the Nuggets.
When asked to share what he learned about his team during the winless road trip, Kerr kept it simple.
“We went 0-4 and losing sucks,” he said. “That’s my biggest takeaway.”
There’s still plenty of time for the Warriors to right the ship before the playoffs begin. Five of the team’s next six games are home at Chase Center, including Tuesday night’s clash against the Los Angeles Clippers, where it owns a 26-7 record. Draymond Green, the Warriors’ heart and soul in the locker room and best defensive presence, announced Monday he’s targeting a return to the floor March 14 against the Washington Wizards.

Hopefully, all that will add up to a much more optimistic takeaway for Kerr following the homestand.
