All this time, draft experts have been comparing quarterback Bryce Young to point guard Steph Curry. But maybe the comparison should go the other way around.

During his introductory press conference on Friday, the 2023 NFL draft’s No. 1 overall pick was asked if he’d like to chat it up soon with the NBA superstar and Carolina Panthers superfan. He replied with the following:

“I hope so. I know Steph right now—he’s got a lot on his plate right now, too. Obviously, he’s focused and locked in on the playoff series he’s trying to win. But yeah, I’m well aware. Definitely have a tremendous amount of respect for him as a player and as a person. Someone I definitely look up to. And yeah, I’m well aware of him being a part of the fanbase, so it’s super cool.”

Well, Steph then replied to Bryce later that night . . . sort of . . .

Unfortunately for Curry, that pregame routine didn’t translate into a dub for his Dubs. The Golden State Warriors dropped the sixth game of their first-round matchup against the Sacramento Kings, 118-99.

So now, Steph is going to have a lot more on his plate with a decisive Game 7 on deck—one Bryce is probably going to tune in to.
