Stashed Boston Celtics floor general Yam Madar went off against the Swedish National Team in his Israeli National Team’s 95-83 loss to Sweden in FIBA World Cup qualifier play on Sunday.
The Celtics No. 47 pick in the 2020 NBA draft put together one of his best games ever in FIBA play this weekend, putting up an impressive 27 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal in less than 29 minutes of play. The Beit Dagan native shot 7-of-12 from the field overall, a blistering 5-of-8 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe in the loss, fouling twice and turning the ball over as many times.
It might not have ended with the result he would have wanted for Israel, but the Partizan NIS point guard is showing real progress as a player that could translate to Madar finally making the leap to the NBA in the near-term future.
To see his game against Sweden in full, check out the highlights from the tilt in this video put together by FIBA.
