In order for the Philadelphia 76ers to have any type of success on Monday when they paid a visit to the Denver Nuggets, they would need contributions from everybody. The Sixers were missing Joel Embiid and James Harden to injuries and they would need everybody to step in and produce on the floor.

Paul Reed certainly stepped up to the challenge on Monday when he poured in 16 points on 7-for-7 shooting and he had nine rebounds in 16 minutes of playing time. It wasn’t enough in a 116-111 loss to the Nuggets, but the play of Reed was encouraging and he helped Philadelphia work its way back into it in the second half.

Afterward, Reed was happy with his play as he continues to move forward.

“It felt good,” he told reporters. “My main thing I was focusing on was going out there and trying to cut the lead down. We did that. So, that was a good feeling.”

This contest marked the end of a grueling stretch for Philadelphia. It ended a four-game road trip and a stretch where they played seven of eight games on the road. The Sixers can now finally return home and for Reed, he gets to see his dog.

“It’s definitely exciting to be able to go home back to our dogs,” Reed stated. “I know Tyrese (Maxey) has one, I have one. They’re like our kids, so I’m looking forward to that. We are looking forward to it.”
