Nick Kyrgios shares heartwarming Instagram post capturing special fan interaction

Nick Kyrgios has pinpointed his favourite career moment as the Australian tennis superstar melted the hearts of tennis fans across the globe on social media.

Kyrgios, 28, shared an image of a moment he shared with a young fan during one of his visits to New York for the US Open.

As he signed autographs for fans, the Wimbledon finalist met a young spectator who had alopecia. Kyrgios shared an image of the moment on Instagram and revealed what he said to him. 

‘US Open a couple years ago …. this young fan was sitting courtside and watched my entire match,’ Kyrgios captioned the photo. 

‘After I finished I went up to him and noticed he was nervous and as I approached him he was a little insecure about his condition.

‘I told him my brother had the exact same condition and he lives a beautiful life, as soon as I told him this his eyes lit up and I could tell from that moment on he had a different outlook and he didn’t feel alone.

‘One of my favourite moments in my entire career, blessed someone captured this moment.’

Kyrgios met the fan in 2019, after he recorded a second round win over Antoine Hoang. 

His brother, Christos, has alopecia and the tennis star was one of his groomsmen for his wedding with longtime partner Alicia Gowans. 

While Nick and Christos are close, tensions were rife between the Wimbledon finalist and Alicia two years ago when he ordered her out of his players box at the Australian Open. 

‘Tell your girlfriend out of my box,’ he proclaimed.
