LIV Golf are returning to Trump National (Bedminster) for the second time in as many years. LIV Bedminster 2.0 runs from August 11-13, with tee off beginning at 1.15pm ET.

Though, the Saudi-backed circuit are arriving with a far more concrete future ahead of them after agreeing to merge with the rival PGA Tour less than 12 months after PGA commissioner Jay Monahan told reporters that such an arrangement was ‘off the table.’

Monahan said Wednesday the PGA is on track to finalize its merger with Saudi backers and LIV Golf.

He was short on details of the proposed agreement with the media and players in his first meeting with them on Tuesday afternoon — mainly because negotiations are ongoing. Tour officials met with the Public Investment Fund last weekend.

Monahan was bullish that a deal would get done by the end of the year, and that the PGA Tour is not considering any outside investors at the moment.

LIV Golfer Anirban Lahiri urged media to relax as to the future of both circuits ahead of the seemingly inevitable merger.

‘I think everybody just needs to pump their brakes. Whatever happens happens. We are here playing LIV, enjoying it entirely, loving the team aspect, obviously making history, breaking new ground and creating a brand new golf product which is gaining momentum, and I’m enjoying being a part of this and looking forward to doing this for many, many seasons,’ he said Wednesday.

‘Whether PGA Tour fits into that plan, I don’t know. But this is Plan A. All of us have moved here with this being our primary place of practicing our profession. When and if and what happens, nobody really knows, but I think most of us are really happy here.
