The Brooklyn Nets lost to the Indiana Pacers on Friday 128-117. Brooklyn started the game well by being hot from the field, but the fourth quarter told a different story. The Nets started the fourth quarter up 94-88, but proceeded to let the Pacers go on a 40-23 run to end the game despite Kevin Durant scoring 20 points in the period.

Ben Simmons had 20 points and 6 rebounds in the contest, but he, like the rest of the team, was unable to defend the Pacers without fouling and that led to Simmons fouling out with 58.7 seconds left in the game. In all, the Nets allowed the Pacers to shoot 38 free-throws and to score 21 points off of the Nets’ 19 turnovers.

Simmons gave his thoughts on what he thought of the loss in his post-game interview:

“Defense obviously. Free-throws, I think they shot 38. So, that was probably it. Huge (the free-throw disparity). I’m tryna keep my money but, I feel like we should’ve gotten to the line a lot more. Defensively, let them shoot way too many threes in the fourth so I think that was the game there. It’s pretty frustrating, but at the same time, we gotta focus on Portland now so move on from this game, get ready for the next one.”
