Warriors vet Iguodala undergoes surgery on fractured wrist originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Warriors veteran forward Andre Iguodala underwent successful surgery on his fractured left wrist Monday, the team announced Tuesday.
It’s unclear if Iguodala’s season is over. Golden State said in the statement it will re-evaluate Iguodala’s status in four weeks. That means Iguodala will miss the rest of the regular season, but the four-week timeline slots his re-evaluation around April 17. The NBA playoffs officially begin April 15.
Iguodala suffered the injury during the Warriors’ 123-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns on March 13. It was just his eighth game of the season as knee issues held him back from contributing to the Warriors over the first half of the season. Iguodala returned to Golden State on March 3 and played in five straight games before the wrist injury occurred.
“Andre has made a big impact since he returned a few weeks ago,” Kerr said after the win over Phoenix. “His on/off numbers are really good. Our defense gets dramatically better the second he steps on the floor. And offensively, even though he’s not really a scorer at this point, he just facilitates. He understands where everybody needs to be.
“So, it’s a huge loss. And it comes at a tough time, when we’re heading down the stretch run.”

The Warriors will have to navigate their playoff push in the crowded Western Conference without Iguodala, a four-time champion who is most valuable to the team in the postseason with his unmatched veteran leadership.
