Warriors make change, start Otto over Loon in pivotal Game 4 originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Ahead of Game 4 of the 2015 NBA Finals, Warriors coach Steve Kerr made a big lineup change and it shifted the balance of the series. Eight seasons later, he’s hoping for the same jolt against the Boston Celtics.

Kerr made a notable adjustment to the Warriors’ starting lineup moments before Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals at TD Garden on Friday, inserting Otto Porter Jr. and removing Kevon Looney.

Porter Jr. will start alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green.

By making the change, the Warriors are hoping to get more offense and spacing on the floor to begin the game.

Porter Jr. is averaging 7.0 points in 19.8 minutes and is 7-of-9 from 3-point range through the first three games of the series.

The Warriors trail the Celtics two games to one and are looking to even The Finals before it shifts back to San Francisco for Game 5 on Monday night.
