Canadian golfer and noted tackle victim Adam Hadwin was gifted some extra protection by the United States Golf Association so he isn’t confused for one of the patrons – again.

Following on from the hilarious and viral moment where Hadwin was tackled by security at the RBC Canadian Open, he arrived at this week’s US Open to a surprise in his locker.

There he found a card along with a fluorescent yellow safety vest and two hard hats with the logos of the USGA and the Los Angeles Country Club stamped on them.

The card was signed by USGA senior director Robert Zalzneck and USGA’s Director of Player Services Jenny Pritchard.

‘Adam, Glad you’re feeling better and made the trip,’ the card read. ‘Your safety and security are our utmost priority. We’re here to support you and ensure your well being.’

Hadwin was taken to the ground by security as he celebrated his friend and fellow Canadian Nick Taylor’s victory in Toronto.

Taylor became the first Canadian to win his home nation’s Open in 69 years in a four-hole playoff victory over Tommy Fleetwood.

Hadwin rushed the green, spraying Taylor and his caddy with champagne as he was tackled to the ground.

The moment went viral – with even Hadwin’s wife cracking jokes at the expense of her husband.

Hadwin enters the US Open with +25000 odds to win the major tournament. Scottie Scheffler opened as the favorite at odds of +650, followed by Jon Rahm at +900 and Brooks Koepka at +1200.
