- The emergence of the Saudi-backed tour has sparked significant change in golf
- Jon Rahm announced in December last year that he would be joining LIV Golf
- Fleetwood however has insisted he is happy playing PGA Tour and DP World Tour
Tommy Fleetwood has revealed he turned down a multi-million pound approach from the Saudi-backed LIV tour just weeks after Jon Rahm’s sensational £500million defection.
‘People have been getting approached for a long, long time now so I don’t think it’s flash news that people are still being approached by LIV,’ said Fleetwood.
‘I’m still chasing my childhood dreams and still trying to be the best golfer I can be. Who knows if that changes in the future but for now that’s just where I want to be.’
Tyrrell Hatton, who partnered Rahm in Europe’s Ryder Cup triumph in Rome last year, added: ‘There’s several people that have had conversations but I’m quite happy playing the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.’
Meanwhile Rory McIlroy fired a flawless nine-under-par 63 to turn up the heat on leader Cam Young going into the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic.

Defending champion McIlroy hit seven birdies and finished by holing a monster putt for eagle on the 18th to reach 12 under par.
Ten shots behind Young at the halfway stage, the world No 2 is now just two behind with 18 holes to play at the Emirates Golf Club.
McIlroy, who is chasing a record fourth Desert Classic title in Dubai, where he has also won two Tour Championships, said: ‘That would be amazing.
‘I’ve had so much success in Dubai. It’s been a really good place to me.’
