Tobias Harris Considered The Worst Contract Sixers Have On Their Roster

Everybody has that one bad contract on their roster. That one contract can be so tough to move even though that player might be a good one, but not a great one that deserves that type of money.

Such is the case for Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris. The veteran out of Tennessee is such a solid player. A very good one. Despite being the No. 4 option for the Sixers and having his role changed almost daily, he is still averaging 16.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while shooting 37.4% from deep. He really is a very productive player in this league.

However, he is set to make $76.9 million over the course of the 2022-23 season and the 2023-24 season and he is ultimately judged by that contract. All in all, it’s one of the worst in the league considering the money and the lack of an All-Star appearance, but he is still a very good player.

Bleacher Report listed the worst contract on each team’s roster and Harris was named that for Philadelphia:

Harris is a good player who’s paid more like a great one.

Maybe he could level up elsewhere, but he’s a fourth option in Philly who lacks standout skills beyond scoring.

At this point, the Sixers will not find an upgrade for Harris. Despite the large amount of money he’s being paid, the Sixers will just not find a player who will do whatever is asked of him, not whine or complain, and still produce when his number is called.
