Former Memphis forward Josh Minott will reportedly sign a four-year, $6.8 million rookie contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Minott, the 45th pick last month, was named to the AAC All-Freshman team last season after averaging 6.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 33 games. He produced his best game of the season on Jan. 23: 18 points and nine rebounds in a win against Tulsa.

The 19-year-old finished summer league by averaging 12.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals in five games. He shot 38.3% from the field, including 41.7% from 3-point range, and is currently ranked fifth among all players in rebounds.

The Timberwolves value the addition of Minott to the roster and believe he can step in and contribute immediately. The team has overgone a bit of roster overhaul after acquiring Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz and will hope Minott can have a smooth transition on the court.

Minnesota finished summer league with a 2-3 record.
