Tiger Woods will make his long-awaited return to the PGA Tour in less than two weeks, it’s been confirmed.

The golf legend will play at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which starts on November 30.

It will be his first PGA Tour start since undergoing ankle surgery in the spring.

Woods hasn’t played since he withdrew from the Masters and had surgery on his right ankle in April.

But, after announcing only 19 of the 20 players to compete at the event hosted by Woods himself, the 47-year-old has now taken that final spot.

Speaking about his recovery earlier this month, Woods said: ‘My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issue whatsoever.

‘That pain is completely gone. It´s the other areas that have been compensated for.

‘But all the surrounding areas is where I had all my problems and I still do.

‘So you fix one, others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues.’

Woods has only made five Tour starts since a horrific 2021 car accident that him left with sever leg injuries.

He has made the cut in four of those tournaments but has only managed to complete the full 72 holes twice as he continues to struggle to walk comfortably.

It remains to be seen whether Woods will also tee it up at the PNC Championship in Decemeber.

He has played with son Charlie in each of the last three editions of that tournament, which boasts a two-player best-ball event that allows competitors to use carts – a huge boost for Woods.

More to follow.
