‘You will forever be the greatest champion’: Worried Tiger Woods fans hail 15-time major champion with outpouring of support after he pulled out of final day at The Masters
Tiger Woods confirmed Sunday morning that he was pulling out of the Masters due to injury, but his fans are behind him.
Woods, who was seen heavily limping during play on Saturday, said on Twitter that he had reaggravated his plantar fasciitis, and exits the famed tournament with 29 rounds to play.
And his fans were quick to offer their support after his announcement.
‘We still ride with you Tiger. See you next year,’ one said.
‘Thank you again, Tiger. Anytime we get to see you tee it up and make history is such a blessing. Rest up [goat],’ another added.

‘Gonna miss seeing the Sunday red,’ another fan commented on his famous Sunday attire at the Masters. ‘Hang in there and get well soon!’
The 15-time major winner scraped through to the weekend after making the cut by a single shot, but was battered by the conditions at the start of his third round and he dropped to the bottom of the leaderboard at +9.
Cameras caught him heavily limping during the final moments of Saturday before play was suspended due to the weather conditions.
Given his injury, Woods did well to make the cut for a 23rd straight tournament, and his efforts were not lost on fans.
‘You showed a lot of guts, grit and determination out there not to stop yesterday,’ one said. You will forever be the greatest Champion.’
‘Still proud of u for making the cut. U will always b a winner,’ another added.
‘We love you brother,’ a different fan said.
The news of Woods’ withdrawal from the tournament was first announced by Masters organizers Sunday morning.

It read: ‘Due to injury, Tiger Woods has officially withdrawn from The Masters Tournament after completing seven holes of his third round.’
Woods wished his fellow competitors well as he confirmed the news on his Twitter.
‘I am disappointed to have to WD this morning due to reaggravating my plantar fasciitis,’ he said.
‘Thank you to the fans and to @TheMasters who have shown me so much love and support. Good luck to the players today!’ he said.
