Former Kentucky guard Shaedon Sharpe has received plenty of interest from teams ahead of the NBA draft, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly among those included in that group.

Sharpe, the No. 3 recruit in the high school class of 2022, had a brief stop in Lexington with the Wildcats after enrolling at the university in January. He never suited up for head coach John Calipari and ultimately opted to leave for the draft.

The 19-year-old is still projected to be a lottery pick despite not playing last season. He has worked out with 10 teams to this point with a visit to Oklahoma City to come. In fact, the Thunder have been heavily involved in scouting Sharpe, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

Sharpe is conducting competitive 3-on-3 workouts for most, but not all of the teams picking in the top 10, with his floor likely being (No. 12) for the Thunder, who will be getting a visit and have studied him more closely than any team in the NBA.

Though there is still much unknown about Sharpe after sitting out last season, teams are still intrigued with his potential. He is highly touted for his athleticism and ability to defend with a 7-foot wingspan and figures to benefit in a situation with development opportunities.

Sharpe reportedly prefers to land with a team like the Thunder, who are still rebuilding and would have minutes available to develop on the court. They have a young nucleus and could benefit by adding a player like Sharpe with plenty of potential and upside.

Oklahoma City enters the draft with three first-round picks and an additional selection early in the second round. The Thunder project to be a team to watch on draft night that could be active so it will be interesting to see how they approach things.
