Jim Nantz sends the internet wild after appearing to make a VERY subtle LIV Golf jibe at Brooks Koepka live on CBS during final day of The Masters
Jim Nantz is widely regarded as one of the best play-by-play announcers in the business, and he gained a few more fans Sunday after he appeared to make the subtlest of digs at LIV Golf while calling The Masters.
The moment – which sent the internet wild – occurred during the morning session at Augusta National, with the players finishing off their weather-affected third rounds before playing straight through into their final 18 holes at Augusta.
LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka is leading the pack, and as he headed down the 15th fairway on Sunday morning, he was forced to lay-up and his ball ended up on the crosswalk that runs across the middle.
As Koepka approached the ball, followed by the TV cameras, Nantz can be heard saying live on air: ‘There is is, right on the CW….. the crosswalk.’
Fans immediately took to Twitter to claim that Nantz’s comment was a subtle reference to LIV Golf being aired on The CW Network, as opposed to a more popular network like the majors and the PGA Tour.

LIV’s ratings on The CW have been very poor at the start of this season, with few fans tuning in to see the likes of Koepka, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson on the course.
Koepka headed into this week’s Masters having won last week’s LIV Orlando event, with the Saturday and Sunday being shown on The CW.
The second event on the season calendar, in Tucson, was viewed by 24% less viewers than the season opener in Mexico, with organizers blaming the popularity of March Madness for their dip in viewers.
Nantz, of course, was on the call in Houston for the March Madness Final Four tournament, commentating for the final time before hanging up his mic on the college basketball showpiece.
LIV Golf is currently only broadcast on the tour’s website, and the CW Network in the USA
