Steph’s heartfelt post shows full-circle moment with son Canon originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Like father, like son.

Steph Curry had a full-circle moment with his son, Canon, on Saturday as the pair celebrated the four-year-old’s birthday at the California Classic.

While the Warriors played the Sacramento Kings down on the Chase Center court, Curry and Canon were in the stands putting on an entirely separate show for the crowd.

Between the NBA Finals MVP hitting his now-iconic “night night” pose for fans to Canon returning their cheers with an adorable wave, it certainly was a moment for the father and son to remember — and one that produced a bit of déjà vu.

The moment on Saturday with Canon wasn’t lost on Curry, who shared a photo of his son waving to the Chase Center crowd alongside a nearly-identical throwback picture of him and his own dad.

“To my son- the World is yours,” Curry wrote. “You light up the room and already bring joy to everyone you meet. @ayeshacurry and I got you forever. Happy 4th birthday #youngwolf.”

Curry was no stranger to the limelight even before his own NBA career began thanks to his father Dell’s own 16-season run in the league. Curry was a constant fixture in photos with his dad sitting courtside and even during interviews, and that’s something the two-time NBA MVP has carried on with his own children over the years.

Canon is already showing flashes of his father’s basketball skills, and it’s clear they both have understood how to win over a crowd from an early age.
