Skechers GOrun Ride 11 Introduction
The Skechers GOrun Ride 11 is an affordable daily trainer that has enough durability for those easy runs and those long runs.
The HYPERBURST ICE midsole provides the plushiness while the in infused carbon plate inside provides the responsiveness if you want to pick up the pace.
At only $120 USD this shoe is much affordable compared to other daily trainers out there in the market.
Skechers GOrun Ride 11 First Impressions
When I first opened the box, I noticed that the build quality of the shoe was legitimate.
As I put them on and as I stood up, I noticed the feel of the low drop. The back of my feet would sink into the shoe.
Running with the shoes I definitely felt the plushiness of the HYPER BURST ICE midsole. Very soft and comfortable underneath my feet.
Skechers GOrun Ride 11 Upper
The GOrun Ride 11 uses a mono mesh upper that has a comfortable fit. The outer layer of the upper around has some ventilation for some breathability, which I find very beneficial during the summer.
The tongue is very wide and fully padded. The heel counter I found it to be fully padded but also not fully secured.
Throughout the start of all my runs, I always get the feeling that my heel will slip off of the shoe. But it never does, and the feeling tends to go away afterwards.
Overall, I find the upper to be pretty solid. A little too much padding for my liking but for others it might be great.
There has been no wear or tears after running over 80 miles in them so far.
Skechers GOrun Ride 11 Sole Unit
The midsole of the Skechers GOrun Ride 11 uses an updated material called HYPERBURST ICE. This material is much softer and plusher than the material that was used in previous models, HYPERBURST.
The midsole also includes an infused carbon plate that is placed on the forefoot. The plate is used to provide a responsiveness as you pick up the pace.
The outsole uses Goodyear Rubber that provides long lasting durability and traction. Durability wise, the rubber has done a pretty good job. I haven’t really noticed any wear or tear after over 80 miles running in them.
The geometry of the sole unit would be beneficial for those with some stability issues because of the wide platform underfoot.
Skechers GOrun Ride 11 Conclusions
In conclusion, the Skechers GOrun Ride 11 was a surprise. I have tried previous models of the GOrun Ride series in the past and the ride of those shoes were quite firm and somewhat unenjoyable.
The GOrun Ride 11 is a total upgrade. I was expecting it to have the same ride to be honest, but it wasn’t.
For the price of the shoe and as an everyday daily trainer that you can actually pick up the pace and still feel a responsiveness, it is definitely worth the investment.
The only suggestion I would recommend is to trim some of the padding on the upper to shed some weight off the shoe.
