CAMDEN, N.J.–Philadelphia 76ers veteran PJ Tucker has been in the league for 11 seasons, while taking a 5-year hiatus overseas, and he has accomplished a lot in his career.

After entering the league in 2006 with the Toronto Raptors, he then went overseas and played five seasons internationally before returning to the NBA in 2012 with the Phoenix Suns. Since then, he has carved out a reputation as a guy who does all of the dirty work and ensures that his team wins games by doing all of the little things.

He won a title with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021 and he was one win away from the finals with the Houston Rockets in 2018 and with the Miami Heat in 2022.

Tucker sat down with Sixers Wire and took a pop quiz on his career as he tries to guess his career highs and his other accomplishments.

Tucker: Yes, of course. The New Jersey Nets.

Q: Do you remember how you scored your first NBA points?

Tucker: Off an offensive rebound or in transition maybe. A transition layup.

Sixers Wire: No.

What was it?

It was all from the free-throw line. You scored three points.

Free-throw. Three points!?

Yes. All from the free-throw line

Q: Do you know your career-high in points?

Tucker: 24 maybe?

SW: Yeah! Do you know who it was against?

Houston. At Houston.

Yeah. This is true.

Q: Do you know your career-high in rebounds?

Tucker: 18 maybe?

SW: Close. Try again.

20?

19.

19!

Do you know it was against?

Tucker: I think I know who it was against. Miami maybe?

SW: No. Try again. I’ll give you a hint. A team out West.

Sacramento!

Q: Your career-high in assists is eight and you’ve done it twice. Can you tell me the two teams it was against?

Tucker: I cannot.

SW: It was against the Milwaukee Bucks and the 76ers. Two teams you’ve played for.

Damn!

Q: What about your career playoff high in assists?

Tucker: No idea.

SW: It’s actually seven this past year with Miami against the Sixers.

Ahh, against the Sixers. That’s interesting.

Q: When you were traded by the Suns to Toronto in 2017, do you remember what Toronto gave up to get you?

Tucker: I was so happy that it didn’t even matter! I ain’t gonna lie. Let me think though. Let me think. Toronto gave up, I think it was for like Jared Sullinger.

SW: Yup! Jared Sullinger and what else?

And a pick. A second-round pick.

Two second-round picks.

Two second-round picks!

Q: What did the Bucks give up to the Rockets to get you?

Tucker: DJ Augustin. Maybe another player?

SW: One more player and then a bunch of picks

Some picks. DJ White?

DJ Wilson.

Ahh! DJ Wilson.

Q: Do you know your career playoff high in points?

Tucker: In points? No idea.

SW: You scored 22 against the Warriors.

Oh, against the Warriors! That was my high?

Yeah, that’s your career playoff high.

Q: When you won the title with the Bucks, what four teams did you beat on your way to the title?

Tucker: Oh, that’s easy. Miami, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Phoenix.

SW: Yup! You aced that quiz.

(Tucker laughed)
