While the Philadelphia 76ers are continuing to work their way through these final games before the playoffs begin, their G League affiliate was able to get the job done in the G League playoffs on Thursday.

The Delaware Blue Coats defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 114-110 to win the 2023 G League championship. It’s the first time the Blue Coats have won the title in their history.

Delaware was led by Mac McClung who is on a two-way deal with the Sixers. The slam dunk champion had 30 points on 8-for-18 shooting with eight rebounds and four assists while second-year guard Jaden Springer had 21 points, nine rebounds, and a block. The two of them were terrific all season in order to lead the Blue Coats to success.

Along with what McClung and Springer brought to the table, the Blue Coats received 22 points from Braxton Key while Louis King had 11 points and nine rebounds and Michael Foster Jr. had 13 points and eight boards.

One has to figure that McClung and Springer will likely join the Sixers in the final two games to get some NBA experience.
