PHILADELPHIA–Everybody knows what Philadelphia 76ers forward Georges Niang brings to the table off the bench. He is a guy who can shoot the heck out of the ball and he brings a lot of energy to a Sixers team when they need it.

Over the previous four games, it has been tough sledding for Niang. He’s shooting a combined 2-for-13 from deep over the previous four games after shooting 1-for-4 from beyond the arc in Thursday’s loss to the Miami Heat.

This is not the greatest time to go into a slump as the playoffs are right around the corner, but The Minivan is a terrific shooter and he is focused on staying positive amid the slump.

“Just keep shooting,” he said. “I think everybody knows I can shoot. I’m gonna make shots. I’ve made big shots. So they better go in in the playoffs. I don’t really think about it. I’m just out there shooting, trying to look at every single rep and trying to make and if it goes in, great. If it doesn’t, then I gotta adjust.”

On the season, Niang is still shooting 39.5% from deep which is a very good number. He’s also a career 40.2% shooter from 3-point range so while this slump is coming at an inopportune time, evidence suggests that he will turn this around.

“Obviously, I know they’re not going in,” he added. “So we’re just making a conscious effort to stick to my routine and stick to my guns and keep doing what I do.”

The Sixers have two games left beginning with Friday’s matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on the road.
