Septieme Largeur Patina Studio has been busy as of late. And it might be that their patina artist won the World Championship in Patina 2023. I say this as they have recently created a new feature on their Instagram account that highlights the patinas they are working on and I think that it is a great, new section of their marketing attempts. That is one thing I appreciate about Instagram is the ability to share your artwork in different forms. And for a patina artist, I do believe the video form is key.
These short snippet videos are catchy and engaging and give you a rough idea of how to start your own patina should you ever wish. But even more so, shows you what you can expect to achieve when ordering from Septieme Largeur. My only wish is if they archived and catalogued ALL of the cool patinas over the years to really give you an idea of what patina you can achieve for each model. I really loved their recent ‘Autumn’ patina look that they put on the highlighted monkstraps, as well as the oxfords. I would love to see a loafer and boot version. Who will be the one to order them?!
Now take the idea above and go a step further. Make that same patina style but in a blue, a green, or even a grey. I think that a grey version of the double monkstraps would be pretty cool. And that is why I like patina. It allows you to be creative. And while some people don’t want to be, many do and this allows you to also be a part of the art process by sharing your vision.
