While some NBA analysts are making it clear they think that star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown does not deserve the full amount of his potential supermax extension, others, like ESPN’s Richard Jefferson, believe the decision to sign Brown to a supermax extension is a no-brainer.
To Jefferson, Brown’s inclusion on the 2023 All-NBA team and his consistent play make him deserving of a supermax contract by definition The ESPN analyst also points out that the amount of money being discussed as “excessive” is indeed significant, but notes player salaries are balanced by team owners’ earnings. While Brown is not considered a superstar, he is seen as one of the best players in the NBA by the NBA analyst.
