BREAKING: Emma Hayes will leave Chelsea at the end of the season

Chelsea have announced that manager Emma Hayes OBE will depart the London club at the end of the season.

After 11 years in charge, Hayes has amassed an eye-watering amount of trophies, making her one of the most successful managers in women’s football.

With six WSL titles, five FA Cups, two League Cups, and six Manager of the Season accolades to her name, it has been confirmed that Hayes will now pursue opportunities outside of the domestic league.

A spell with USWNT perhaps? Read more on this faintly shocking development below.

Daring, dazzling, Doku

The new recruit has his first Etihad goal and is running the show, to put it simply.

From the sidelines, a puffer-clad Grealish looks faintly awestruck.

But for Akankji’s very useful back, he might have had two to his name, and a further assist.

45+2 min: Man City 3-0 Bournemouth

Haaland roams around like a circling shark as four minutes is added onto the half.

Can Bournemouth escape into the bowels of the Etihad without conceding a fourth?

Scott heads off. Not on a stretcher, but accompanied by the physios who tended to him on the pitch.

Rothwell comes on for the pain-looking 20-year-old just before a threatening freekick for the home side. They defend very well, all things considered, and try to set up a quick counter.

But Walker is lightning, and manages to shut down the budding attack.

41 mins: Man City 3-0 Bournemouth

At this rate, Bournemouth will be extremely unwilling to come back out of dressing room after what’s sure to be an uncomfortable half-time talk.

A moment of brightness for the visitors comes from Scott, jinking forward but after handing off, he goes to collect the ensuing pass back and collides with Rodri.

Bad to worse – Scott goes down clutch his knee, looking agonised.

The youngster’s only just come back from his knee injury that travelled with him from Bristol City. Nightmarish for Bournemouth.

GOAL! Man City 3-0 Bournemouth (Akanji 37′)

We could have a mauling on our hands here.

Doku is in rip-roaring form as he collects a clever ball from Silva on the edge of the box, and he doesn’t hesitate to fire! His strike comes off Akankji’s body, and the pair will be happy to share credit.

Bournemouth immediately chase going behind on the road with a yellow card, this one for Billing, for delay the restart in the visitors’ half.

They look hesitant now, as Man City calmly try and work through from the back. Alvarez picking up the ball in the centre and spraying it forward to a sprinting Doku to threaten again.

And threaten they do! Bernardo Silva is the next Man City man to break through Bournemouth defences, thanks to a fearsome, delicate run from Doku. Mepham is brushed aside as the Belgian cuts back to his team-mate who pulls off a clean finish from the edge of the six-yard box.

GOAL! Man City 1-0 Bournemouth (Doku 29′)

It’s a long time coming, but it’s here, and it’s fabulous.

Some excellent build-up play from Man City as they ferret around the area looking to break through Bournemouth’s choppy defence.

Rodri taps the neatest pass to Doku in a 1-2 before the summer signing fires from the edge to break the deadlock.

GOAL! Brentford 1-2 West Ham (Bowen 26′)

Everything’s coming up Moyes!

Bowen had his chance earlier, and he’s on the scoresheet now! With the help of Kudus, whose initially strike rebounds off the post, but Bowen can feast on the remains.

The forward is now the first player in Premier League history to score in the six consecutive away games. Beat that, Erling!

… and we’re brought back down to earth by a VAR check. Potential handball from Bowen?

24 min: Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

For all of City’s dominance, this is one of the only 3pm ties that is – as yet – goalless.

Haaland has had lively game, and he just misses out on getting onto the scoresheet when he strikes the woodwork.

The chances keep coming, however, as Bournemouth can only enjoy a flicker of possession.

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Crystal Palace (Schlupp 22′)

Not much change at Turf Moor, as Burnley find themselves behind once again.

This time it’s thanks to a strike from Schlupp after he motors into the box at pace that Trafford can’t contain.

Burnley had been looking hungry, but – that’s never been enough.

GOALS! Brentford 1-1 West Ham

Neal Maupay put Brentford ahead first in the 11th minute, but West Ham look in sparkling form after their midweek win against Arsenal.

They level things with a goal from summer signing Kudus – moments after a strong chance from Bowen.

DISALLOWED GOAL! Dunk comes close, but it’s still Everton 1-0 Brighton

No wasting any time this afternoon! Dunk atones for his sins in glorious fashion, making hay with an excellent Brighton freekick that entirely outfoxes Pickford.

It looks set to be a barnstormer at Goodison Park… but is it offside?

VAR is preparing to intervene, taking a second look at Ferguson’s far-post positioning…

And he’s off! No goal for the Seagulls. Disappointment for Dunk.

GOAL! Everton strike first against Brighton (Mykolenko 7′)

Everton have drawn first blood! Against the run of play, Sean Dyche’s side have outsmarted the visitors with some aggressive, nervy play.

The ball might have come off Lewis Dunk’s knee after some forceful play from Mykolenko, but it goes down as the Ukrainian’s.

6 min: Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth pass the ball between defenders and Radu tentatively, as Man City cluster around the edge of the box waiting for a mistake.

Things look breathtakingly casual for the home side in these early moments, as they reset to the back to set up a move forward through Ake.

5 min: Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

Man City are unsurprisingly the first to sneak forward, with Haaland looking for a route through into the box.

Bournemouth will have to pull off a heroic performance on the road to quieten the Etihad.

A big day for Burnley or Palace – both in desperate need of one

Crystal Palace come to Turf Moor with the express purpose of an emphatic win, a performance worthy of blotting out the past three consecutive Premier League defeats.

But Burnley will be no less motivated – they’re starting down the barrel of their worst ever Premier League start, and after a thumping from Everton of all sides, don’t have a Carabao Cup run to provide a cheery respite from dismal results.

Kompany will hope he can call upon the spirits of his predecessors to compel his side: the Clarets are unbeaten in their last five match-ups against the Eagles.

Stuff the real thing, this fan only has eyes for the ‘Guernsey Grealish’

Bournemouth’s summer signing Alex Scott has been dubbed just that after his barnstorming last season at Bristol City – chockful of performances that saw clubs fight to tempt him away from the Robins.

The 20-year-old has had a difficult start to life with the Cherries, however. He’s been stymied with injury that has seen him make just two league starts in red and black.

His third comes on no lesser stage than the home of the Treble holders.

Guardiola overlooks Kalvin Phillips yet again… how long will the England midfielder be content with cooling his heels on the bench?

Bournemouth are hardly the opposition to require the full force of Guardiola’s Man City machine on the face of it, but the Catalan manager has brushed aside the question of heavy rotation and fielded many of those players expected to start against Young Boys in three days time.

The former Leeds player, inevitably, is set to start on the bench. But for how much longer?

MARTIN KEOWN TALKS TACTICS: Brentford are THE formation flip-floppers with seamlessly changing systems from game to game as Bees prepare to host West Ham

When facing one of the Premier League’s bigger sides this season, they have used 3-5-2. For everyone else, they have used 4-3-3.

It is a pattern to which they have stayed true, switching from a back three to a back four depending on the strength of the opposition…

A chance for Brighton to get back to winning ways? Or will Everton kick on?

Brighton’s trip to Goodison Park has somewhat of a question mark over it – even if the two clubs’ league positions might have suggested a different story.

Sean Dyche’s side were one of few last season to lay a glove on Roberto De Zerbi’s high-flying Seagulls, but it was a knockout – a jaw-dropping 5-1 drubbing at the Amex that left most supporters – and neutrals – open-mouthed.

Brighton could therefore feel a little haunted as they make the journey north, looking for their first win in an eyebrow-raising five league games.

Everton, meanwhile, should find the timing of the encounter pleasing: they’re looking feisty after distinguishing themselves somewhat in the Merseyside derby, keeping West Ham at bay, and marching on in midweek Carabao Cup action against hapless Burnley.

What a home victory would do to boost morale on Merseyside!

Vincent Kompany retains Burnley’s faith despite the Clarets worst start in 52 years… after picking up four points from 10 matches on their Premier League return

Vincent Kompany’s return to the Premier League has been far from heaven-sent.

The former Manchester City man burned up the Championship, but the English top-flight has proved a far tougher task than anticipated, with the side having picked a dismal four points in their opening 10 matches.

But the ex-defender remains doggedly confident about the team – can he pull off a home upset against Crystal Palace?
