Jose Mourinho Stefano Pioli Roma Milan

Stefano Pioli has confirmed a quite remarkable record, as while Jose Mourinho has beaten every other coach he faced at least four times, he has never defeated the Milan boss in six meetings.

That tally was reached this evening when Milan defeated Roma 3-1 at San Siro in Serie A.

That makes it two draws and four defeats in Mourinho’s total record against Pioli, all of them between Roma and Milan since 2021.

Remarkably, there are only 35 coaches in his entire career that Mourinho failed to get a victory against.

Of those 35, the only one who comes close to Pioli is Kjetil Knutsen, who emerged with two wins and a draw in three encounters, all at the helm of Bodo/Glimt.

Those who managed two encounters without defeat against Mourinho are Gian Piero Ventura, Paulo Sousa, Kevin Keegan, Carlos Queiroz, Igor Tudor, Vincenzo Montella, Julian Nagelsmann, Murat Yakin, Jupp Heynckes and Vicente del Bosque.
