Golf’s glamour girl Paige Spiranac has hit out at critics of the hugely successful LIV tournament in Adelaide, insisting that ‘fun is allowed and it should be encouraged’ at sports events – but fans preferred to focus on her very risque clothing choice.
The influencer and former pro golfer enjoyed watching the inaugural LIV Australia tournament at the Grange Golf Club last weekend, which saw over 90,000 spectators flock to the course.
There has been plenty of criticism of the rebel league over the fact it is bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, which was created in 1971 for the purpose of investing on behalf of its government.
Many have also objected to the party atmosphere at the event, which resulted in wild scenes as fans soaked up the music and enjoyed more than a few beverages at the so-called ‘watering hole’ – but Spiranac isn’t one of them.
‘It was electric, but what’s frustrating is all the takes I was seeing on social media,’ she said in a video posted to Twitter that she quickly deleted.

‘People were saying too much music, too much fun. When did too much fun become a bad thing?
‘They were like, “OK, now you’re an adult, you have responsibilities, a job you probably hate, you have to get married, have kids, financial burdens and on top of that no more fun”. It’s ridiculous.
‘Fun is allowed and it should be encouraged, especially at sporting events. That’s why we go, to be entertained.
‘And let’s be real, it’s golf, it’s not that serious. They are not saving lives or moulding minds. They are chasing a ball around and hitting it with sticks, trying to get it into a hole.
‘Whether you like LIV or hate LIV, you have to admit that event looked like so much fun and all in all it’s good for the game of golf.’
Spiranac has taken the sport by storm, posting glamorous photos on the golf course in tiny, tight-fit skirts and low-cut tops and has racked up 3.7 million Instagram followers, earning herself the title of ‘world’s sexiest woman’ from Maxim magazine.
Many fans agreed with her stance on the ‘fun’ aspect of LIV events, but others could not get over her cheeky T-shirt, which read: ‘Not only am I funny (I have nice t***ies too!).’
‘Great shirt, forget the golf,’ replied one Twitter user.

The influencer recently revealed that her rapid rise to fame in golf has come with a price.
Spiranac said she would be ‘so down’ to play a match with Tiger Woods or Tom Brady in an Instagram Q&A last month but revealed she had guard herself from the rumor mill.
She claimed that ‘disgusting sexual’ rumors spread every time she works with a man, making her feel that she cannot participate in certain events.
‘One thing people don’t talk about with being a woman in a male-dominated industry, whether it’s golf or the sports industry, is that any time I do content with another man there are rumors and comments, and it’s all disgusting sexual stuff,’ Spiranac said.
