The Thunder made a late addition to its NBA Summer League squad Friday by adding TyTy Washington Jr. to the roster.

It’s unclear if Washington will play for the Thunder at 3:30 p.m. Friday against the Wizards in Las Vegas Summer League.

The Thunder, on Wednesday, officially acquired Washington, Usman Garuba, Rudy Gay and a 2026 second-round pick from the Hawks in exchange for guard Patty Mills, who was on the Thunder’s roster for less than a week.

Before being dealt from the Hawks to the Thunder, both Washington and Garuba played for the Rockets.

Washington, a 6-foot-3 guard from Phoenix, was the 29th pick in the 2022 draft.

Washington played in 31 games (two starts) as a rookie for the Rockets last season. He averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Washington shot 36% from the floor and 24% from 3-point range. He went 10-of-18 (56%) from the free-throw line.

The silver lining of Washington’s rookie season was a 47-to-14 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Washington is the third Kentucky guard on the Thunder’s roster, joining Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace.
