Novak Djokovic has booked his place in the quarter final of the Australian Open with the Serbian looking back to his imperious best against Alex de Minaur in Melbourne.

Djokovic, 35, has struggled with a left hamstring injury throughout the tournament, stirring optimism among Aussie tennis fans that their hometown hero could send the nine-time winner packing. 

But he was taught a lesson by the Serbian on Rod Laver Arena, with Djokovic cruising to a 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 victory in just over two hours.
