Throughout their collaborative relationship, Drake has brought back a number of obscure Nike models from the archives infused with the contemporary aesthetics of his NOCTA brand. Returning to shelves for the first time since 1999, Aubrey’s latest joint effort – the Nike Air Zoom Drive – has since appeared in first-look imagery.
The Certified Lover Boy’s take on the classic Alpha Project silhouette embarks on a seldom number of distinct design changes, ditching the former perforated canvas mudguard in favor of a clad-leather construction. Much like his Hot Step Air Terra, an assortment of miniature white checks litter the 3/4 cut model whereas the Zoom cushioning system underfoot retains its streamlined look over 24 years later. While the model is expected to debut in a “Triple White” colorway, the pictured proposition is anchored in a two-toned monochrome flair, reserving a dominant amount of real estate for the tonal consumption of jet-black shades while crisp white contrasts ascertain the laces, TPU plate and the duo of branded pull tabs.
