Escaping him throughout his childhood due to the treats’ affordability for his family in Greece, Giannis discovered the delicious act of dunking the monochrome cookies in milk just ahead of Thanksgiving in 2021. Ever since they’ve been his go-to nightly snack.
For the next colorway of his Nike Zoom Freak 5, the two-time League MVP’s obsession with Oreos is now represented with its own greyscale ensemble. The silhouette’s textured knit upper, midsole and heel tab all engage in mimicking the cookie’s fluffy white center while the jet-black leather overlays and tongue construction enact an opposing pitch-dark tint. A marbled aesthetic takes hold of the tread underfoot, while speckled detailing at the bottom half of the Swoosh compliments its upper silver metallic finish.
