Following his regular season MVP in 2014, Nike dubbed one of their youngest signature athletes “The Baddest”. Now proffering his 15th signature silhouette with the Beaverton-based brand, Kevin Durant is quietly enjoying another MVP-level season while shooting an obscene 56 percent from the field. From paying homage to the Brooklyn community to his yearly remembrance of his late Aunt Pearl, the latest Nike KD 15 couples his “B.A.D” mentality with those closest to him who share the same approach in their own lives.
Coming clad in varying hues of premium violet, a light “Space Purple” envelops the mesh base layer and protective TPU caging across the midfoot while a slightly darker “Oxygen Purple” explores the floral print found on its tongue and hang tag in tandem with its laces, sock liner and mudguard. Proffering a velvet finish across its upper tongue while coming affixed with crisp white “B.A.D” embroidery, a luminous “Purple Cosmos” outfits both the exterior and medial side Checks. Underfoot, a solid white midsole interjects amidst the dominant titular upper and translucent icy blue tread underfoot which enjoys a hidden away rose motif.
Embroidered along the inner tongue and printed on its insoles, the nicknames of Durant’s inner circle and his brother Tony – codenamed “The Crew” – outfit the aforementioned sections for yet another KD signature packed to the brim with candor and recognition.
While we sit tight on the pair’s release in 2023, enjoy official images of the Nike KD 15 “B.A.D” below in the meantime.
