Receiving a revitalization this past August, Charles Barkley’s Nike Air Max CB ’94 has only just begun to join the Beaverton brand’s broader inline collections. After returning in retro form spearheaded by a few OG styles from the mid-90s, the straight jacket-inspired silhouette undertakes its second appearance in a broader roster of footwear next year.

The Nike Basketball “Dark Smoke Grey” collection brings a contemporary palette to some of the brands most nostalgic on-court toolings imbued with the heritage of decades past. Alongside the Dunk Low and Air More Uptempo, the circa 1994 tooling engages in the same bespoke two-toned palette as its aforementioned counterparts.

A pairing of “Light Smoke Grey” and “Light Silver” shades overtake the clad-leather upper with a fervor, allowing for “Dark Smoke Grey” contrasts to clarify the midsole, tongue, laces and heel tab bearing the collection’s synonymous repeating Nike insignia. What’s more, an infusion of “Barely Green” animates the heel’s 270-degree Max Air cushioning system while treating the elastic straps of the quarter and portions of the tread to a glow in the dark finish.

The Nike Air Max CB ’94 “Dark Smoke Grey” is expected to release in the spring of 2024 for a retail price of $170. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.
