With visible Air technology set to have a stellar 2024, it’s only right that the Nike Air Max 1 forms part of the celebration.

Over the past 11 months, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design from 1987 has taken on handfuls of different ensembles. Although some have harkened back to the silhouette’s earlier days, others have doubled-down on the sneaker’s second-life as a lifestyle model. The Air Max 1 PRM (read: “Premium”) is the biggest culprit as it provides an elevated construction that further distances the design from its performance origins.

With winter fast approaching, the Swoosh’s luxe take on Hatfield’s creation – which was inspired by the Centre Pompidou in Paris – has returned in a new color scheme. “White”-colored mesh sets the stage for a number of contrasting tones and materials, including “Pearl White” leather panels and “Vast Grey” fabric overlays. A rich “Cedar” hue animates everything from the miniature swoosh on the lateral forefoot to the inner-lining; the Air Max bubble and sections of the outsole follow suit. Lastly, the elevated sneaker features an off white midsole that allows for components above and below to stand out that much more.
