It’s no secret that New Balance has positioned itself as one of the most-exciting brands in regards to collaborations over the last two years. Yet, the century-old company hasn’t completely surrendered to high-profile partnerships and strategic joint-efforts, it’s still doing the bulk of the work on its own.
Recently, the “dad shoe” connoisseurs unveiled the New Balance RC30, a low-top, suede-heavy proposition rooted in what seems to be performance-running heritage. Donald Glover will help introduce the latest lifestyle sneaker from the Massachusetts-headquartered company, but the RC30 is also set to drop in a series of general colorways. First up?: A “Red” and “White”-colored pair donning light gum brown outsoles. Although the pair’s design influence hasn’t been revealed, it shares resemblance to the XC-72, the “race car for your feet” that Casablanca helped unveil. Textile base layers are overlaid with hairy suede panels t the toe, along the tongue and across the heel, with profile “N” logos opting for a leather construction. The widely-serrated tread underfoot harkens back to a different time in New Balance history, as have other lifestyle propositions from he brand since 2020. Together, the aforementioned components offer a design rooted in heritage that still feels fresh enough to fit right in the modern era’s footwear landscape.
Enjoy product images of the pair ahead, courtesy of Overkill Shop, as you wait for official NewBalance.com release details.
