Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has played his second game in his second stint with the team and has had uneven performances in both games. One could also say that about the entire Nets team as they started the first half in impressive fashion only to sputter down the stretch.
In Saturday’s 101-98 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Dinwiddie had nine points on just 2-of-10 shooting from the field and 0-4 from behind the three-point line. He had a team-leading six assists for a Brooklyn team that seems to be lacking play-makers on the offensive end.
In a game in which Brooklyn led by as many as 12 points, it was disappointing to see that the Nets were not able to generate enough points down the stretch to finish the deal. After Saturday’s win over the 76ers, Dinwiddie spoke about what led to the Nets faltering down the stretch after doing so well in the first three quarters:
“I mean, I think we had some looks that we missed. And then, I think sometimes obviously, we got in the paint and, you know, hit the ground and there were, you know, no calls or turnovers and things like that. And, you know, I think that’s the the biggest benefit of being a superstar in this league. I mean, the benefit of the doubt all the 50/50 plays are gonna go your way. So, you know, they got to on that side, we have zero over here. And so you see, turnovers and things that, you know, I guess it’s all up for debate and opinion.”
