Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges has been one of the best players on the team since he came over from the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade. Despite how well he has played thus far, what he did on Sunday was one of his best games of his career and that seems to be getting said a lot lately.

In Sunday’s 119-106 loss to the Orlando Magic, Bridges was on fire throughout the game. He had 44 points (13-of-22 from the field and 6-of-9 from three-point land) and six rebounds. In addition to how well he was shooting the ball, he also went 12-of-12 from the free-throw line as he was being aggressive driving to the rim all game long.

Bridges scored 19 points in the first quarter and that tied his career-high for most points in a quarter which shows you what kind of roll he was on. He seemed one of the only guys on the team who had his shot going in any capacity and that scoring kept Brooklyn in the game in the first half. However, since most of his teammates did not have anything going, the second half turned into a blowout as the Magic ran the Nets out of Amway Center. Bridges reacted to his performance in the loss to the Magic:

“I was just making shots, just trying to get to my spots. Usually, I struggle here personally in Orlando. The biggest of shots and then, just trying to win. Just try to make shots, keep us in, and win the game.”
