Nemanja Bjelica bids farewell to Warriors with heartfelt Instagram post

After spending one season with the Golden State Warriors, Nemanja Bjelica’s time in the Bay Area has come to a close. The seven-year NBA veteran will take his talents to Europe after signing with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce of the EuroLeague and Basketball Super League. 

Following his move to Europe, Bjelica posted a heartfelt goodbye message to the Warriors and their Dub Nation fanbase. Bjelica posted a series of photos from his run to a championship with Golden State, with a lengthy message thanking the fans and all his supporters. Bjelica’s caption also announced he would be closing his NBA chapter.

Thank you Warriors, the 2022 NBA champions. To the best fans and everyone who supported and pushed us through the whole season until the very end, thank you. To this amazing organization who believed in me and let me be part of this legendary group of players, my brates. To all of you, for this unforgettable experience to close my NBA chapter, thank you. I will always remember this season, these fans and the Bay. Always a Warrior, Thank you #DjudjuFandjo 🐬

Bjelica started his Golden State campaign in memorable fashion with a double-double performance against the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night. Bjelica tallied 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor with 11 boards and four assists against LeBron James and the Lakers.

The Serbian went on to average 6.1 points on 46.8% shooting from the floor with 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 16.1 minutes per contest for the Warriors in the 2022-23 season. 

Bjelica played seven seasons in the NBA with stops in Golden State, Minnesota, Sacramento and Miami.
