No 1 seeds Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk are through to the second round of the US Open after beating Alycia Parkes and Christipher Eubanks 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
The top-ranked pair took three of their seven break point opportunities to brush aside the American duo, although they required a tie-break in the first set.
But they breezed through the decisive second, as Skupski and American Krawczyk put their names into the hat for the next round in impressive fashion, with the British male also through to the second stage of the tournament in the men’s souble tournament.
