The Philadelphia 76ers invaded the Chase Center in San Francisco on Friday night looking to pull off a stunner. The defending champion Golden State Warriors are one of the better home teams in the league while the Sixers are the best road team in the league record-wise, but Philadelphia was short-handed.

The Sixers–missing James Harden, Jalen McDaniels, and Danuel House Jr.–gave the Warriors everything they could handle, but it wasn’t enough. Joel Embiid was terrific as he went for 46 points on 13-for-23 shooting, 19-for-22 from the foul line, and he had nine rebounds and eight assists, but Golden State walked away with a 120-112 win. Jordan Poole had 33 and Steph Curry had 29 for the defending champs.

To support Embiid on the night, Tobias Harris was efficient with 23 points on 10-for-12 shooting with six rebounds, Tyrese Maxey added 21 points and five assists, and De’Anthony Melton added eight points and six rebounds.
