The Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics locked horns on Saturday night in a prime-time matchup with both teams looking to come away with an impressive win. With the game tied at 107, it was the Celtics who came up clutch on the road.
After Joel Embiid hit two free throws to tie the game with 10.8 seconds left, Celtics star Jayson Tatum drilled a go-ahead triple to give Boston a 110-107 lead with 2.2 seconds left. Embiid then heaved it from 3/4 court and it hit nothing but net to tie it at 110.
However, after the officials reviewed it, it was waved off and the Celtics walked away with the win.
The heroics of Tatum spoiled a big night from Embiid. The big fella had 41 points on 12-for-21 shooting, 17-for-18 from the foul line, and he had 12 rebounds and five assists along with three blocks. James Harden had 21 points, eight assists, and six rebounds, and Tobias Harris added 19.
