POINT GUARD

Stephen Curry – Golden State (vs. LA Lakers) – DK: $10,300 / FD: $10,100 / Yahoo: $42
Spending up on a great PG is a priority tonight. Curry gets you exposure to the best PG matchup on the slate for a lot less than the other stars I’m interested in. Plus, he’s not on a back-to-back, is at home, and the Warriors are seven-point favorites in a game with a nice, high over/under. Curry previously hit the high end of his range against the Lakers, scoring 21 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists despite hitting only two threes in that game. There have been some ups and downs, but Curry is a great option tonight who we should see match his peers for less salary.

Also Consider: LaMelo Ball, Dejounte Murray, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Raul Neto, Devonte’ Graham

SHOOTING GUARD

Gary Trent Jr. – Toronto (vs. Denver) – DK: $7,000 / FD: $7,000 / Yahoo: $27

Trent playing well is good for the Raptors, and also good for us. Here is another great game environment where I prefer to target guards vs. the Nuggets. Trent is coming off an amazing line in Houston Thursday night – nearly 60 fantasy points! – which is not the expectation behind this pick. Rather, Trent has developed into a very consistent, multi-category producer and he gives you a solid floor for the price. If he happens to flash that upside again tonight, even better.

Also Consider: Caris LeVert, Kyrie Irving, Desmond Bane, Terry Rozier, Klay Thompson, Jalen Suggs, Devin Vassell

SMALL FORWARD

Harrison Barnes – Sacramento (at Washington) – DK: $6,800 / FD: $7,100 / Yahoo: $24

The Kings made some splashy moves at the deadline, including adding Domantas Sabonis to the frontcourt. Barnes seemed to thrive with the new teammate, scoring 30 points and eight rebounds against Minnesota Wednesday night. He has played alongside superstars before and it’s worked, so in what should be a close and high scoring game with Washington, I like Barnes’ mid-range salary. Proving it’s not just a change in the rotation, Barnes has scored at least 20 points with at least five rebounds and three assists in each of his last four games.

Also Consider: Andrew Wiggins, OG Anunoby, Jimmy Butler, Aaron Gordon, Javonte Green, Kenrich Williams

POWER FORWARD

Kyle Kuzma – Washington (vs. Sacramento) – DK: $7,900 / FD: $7,700 / Yahoo: $30

Washington is another new-look team with Kuzma as its standout star, at least until Porzingis is ready to make his debut which won’t be tonight. There are definitely some value options to consider from the Wizards, but Kuzma seemed to love being the go-to guy, notching his first career triple-double Thursday night in a win over the Nets. He seems like he’s always been itching for more opportunity and he has his whole share of it now.

Also Consider: Domantas Sabonis, Tobias Harris, Keldon Johnson, Wendell Carter Jr., Miles Bridges

CENTER

Brandon Clarke – Memphis (at Charlotte) – DK: $4,800 / FD: $5,600 / Yahoo: $17

What would Clarke do with real minutes? In just 18-24 MPG, he’s been posting some very nice lines over the past 10 days. His salary is welcome relief at a position where there is no shortage of stud options. In one of the best center matchups in the league, I expect Clarke to post his third 30-plus fantasy point game in row tonight, which makes his range of outcomes overlapping with some of the top players for less than half of their salaries. I’m not saying don’t roster a super-star center (I worry a little about Embiid’s matchup and back-to-back), but I don’t think it’ll be essential to a quality lineup tonight.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic, Pascal Siakam, Jakob Poeltl, Bam Adebayo, Deandre Ayton

Additional Notes

Devonte’ Graham (PG – NOP) is a frustrating option in DFS. I love the spot for him tonight, and he is coming off two strong games. However, he can also totally disappear at times too. Luckily CJ McCollum is used to sharing, and having more quality shooting on the floor can help Graham’s assist numbers. This should be a fairly loose and fast-paced game, with fantasy potential on both sides; Graham is a cheap way to get exposure.

Aaron Gordon (PF – DEN) is probably going to fade back into oblivion as tends to happen when I start to trust him again. I’ve always rooted for Gordon to do well since his phenomenal dunk contest back in 2016, but lately he’s been a guy I try to forget when building lineups. Now he’s been putting up value-exceeding lines in about 70 percent of his games. That means there are still going to be duds, but where his salary works with your last F slot, I like his potential to get 35-plus again tonight.

Devin Vassell (G/F – SAS) was a headliner here yesterday, but in case you missed it, he’s starting and he’s shining. Two games in a row with over 30 fantasy points and still very, very cheap. It should be another fast and fun game with the Pelicans tonight, and given that Vassell only played 28 minutes again last night, he should be in line for a similar workload tonight.
