Kikumoto’s rise began on April 9 when she briefly appeared in television coverage of the Masters, standing behind golfers John Rahm – the eventual winner – and Brooks Koepka.

As she watched the two in action at Augusta National, the camera’s field of view lingered on her face long enough for somebody to record a short video, and for that to go viral.

It was TikTok account DoubleBogeys that uploaded the initial clip of Kikumoto. They posted a short clip of her with the caption: ‘Somehow I feel in love with someone I only saw for 15 seconds.’

The 19-year-old is also a cheerleader at Texas Tech. She has nearly 50,000 TikTok followers thanks to Augusta, a rise of more than 40,000.
