The 2023 Masters is set to get underway TODAY, with Scottie Scheffler looking to retain his green jacket while Rory McIlroy aims to win his first title at Augusta… but what time does it start? And how can you watch it?

The 2023 Masters is set to get underway, with 88 golfers going head-to-head for the coveted green jacket. 

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the current holder of the Masters title following his win in 2022. The American dominated proceedings from start to finish and led for most of the tournament.

It is believed that around 40,000 eager spectators will pass through the gates from Thursday to Sunday during the tournament.

Jack Nicklaus has won the most Masters tournaments with six. The former golfing legend won in 1965, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975 and 1986. Tiger Woods is close behind Nicklaus with five wins in total. His last win at the tournament came in 2019, finishing one shot ahead of Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

What is the Masters schedule on Day One?

Today’s action is scheduled to get underway at 1pm, with Kevin Na and Mike Weir the first up. 

Despite the Masters starting at 1pm, coverage of the featured groups will be shown live on Sky Sports Golf from 2pm. 

The likes of Tiger Woods, Scheffler and McIlroy will all be in action in the evening.

The current holder of the green jacket, Scottie Scheffler, will begin the defence of his title at 6.36pm. 

Rory McIlroy’s quest to win his first-ever Masters will also begin today. The Northern Irishman is set to get his 2023 tournament underway at 6.48pm.

Five-time winner Tiger Woods is away at 3.18pm. Woods will be looking to pick up his sixth title in what could be his last Masters tournament.

Over the past 40 years, the tournament has successfully finished on a Sunday as scheduled. 

However, that may not be the case this time around. Today’s weather will mainly be cloudy, and it may get worse when play gets underway.

The Weather Channel has also forecasted showers and potential thunderstorms throughout the day, followed by rain throughout the rest of the tournament.
