Liverpool’s season ‘is just going to be BLAH’, claims ex-Man United goalkeeper Tim Howard, insisting the Reds must revamp their midfield because it’s ‘too old’ for Klopp’s style after woeful loss to Leeds
Tim Howard claimed Liverpool’s season will be ‘average’ after Jurgen Klopp’s men suffered their fourth defeat of the Premier League campaign Saturday.
Liverpool suffered yet another humiliating defeat as it lost 2-1 to Leeds United following Crysencio Summerville’s last-gasp winner.
The Reds’ Anfield fortress crumbled as the 20-year-old’s 89th-minute goal ended their 19-month-long winning streak at home.

The defeat also signaled Liverpool’s second straight loss to a team in the relegation zone and left it ninth in the Premier League with only four wins.
After a shocking start to the campaign, a title race seems out of reach for Jurgen Klopp’s side and former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper Howard summarized Liverpool’s season as ‘average’.
He also claimed Liverpool’s midfield needed an overhaul with the likes of Thiago, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and James Milner unable to keep up with Klopp’s style of play.
‘I feel like their season is just going to be blah,’ he said on NBC following the game. ‘Their midfield needs revamping. They’ve gotten old and there’s not enough legs in there for the way Jurgen Klopp wants to press. It’s just going to be an average season.’

However, the American had plenty of praise for compatriot Jesse Marsch’s Leeds side after its victory.
The American manager had been given a stay of execution following a loss to Fulham last week but Howard claimed the result at Anfield should have bought Marsch the time he needs to turn things around.
‘It [the win] should give him as much time as he needs to turn this around,’ Howard claimed.
‘Yeah, they’re down near the bottom, it’s not great. But why do you sack a manager? Because the performances aren’t good? The performances have been good.

‘Because he’s lost the team? He hasn’t lost the team. There’s a spirit of togetherness in that group. This team will be fine. They need time to build.
‘Look I don’t think they defend particularly well as individuals – that needs sorting out. But the rest of it? Jesse Marsch did really well with this team. So they should be proud of that group today.’
Liverpool face a tougher challenge in the Premier League next as it comes up against third-place Tottenham away in a bid to bounce back and get its season on track.
