Take the hose with you to the hardware store to insure it fits with a male-male fitting. 3. Always use wenches instead of pliers because the pliers teeth will cut gashes in the brass. 4. An elbow fitting is better to prevent unnecessary hose kinks. Install this before screwing down the legs. More room to work with. 5. A fire proof floor is safer if you place the heater on the ground. I have fake wood planks which can get hot in front of the heater therefore, I put the heater on a fire resistant hardy board. There are plenty of fire proof options for this. 6. After set up and first use don't be impatient for the heater to fire up when you depress the pilot. Give it 30 seconds to one minute to allow the gas line to fill up. 7. I am able to use this heater at 6,500 feet above sea level, but the oxygen detector will shut the heater down if there is not enough air in the room. I just open a door to another room or get some fresh air in the room and the heater Pilot/ODS will be able to turn back on in a few minutes. If the ODS turns the heater off, just open a door and get fresh air in the room and reignite the pilot in a few minutes. Also, when you first set up the heater you may have to hold down the pilot control knob for several minutes, it does take a while to bleed out all the air in the newly attached system. The boxes that the heaters came in were damaged with big tears and impact crunches, but the heaters were intact and undamaged thanks to the Styrofoam protection inside the box. Both heaters work great, despite the occasional ODS shut off. Once you get the hang of it they work great! It worked great for my needs and included all parts needed to connect to most cities natural gas in home connections. I use this to heat a 500 sq ft room, but I think it could easily heat a 1,500 sq ft room or home. I also purchased some carbon monoxide detectors because this is a vent less NG heater. So far I have never seen any CO readings or alerts. There will likely be some condensation because it is vent less, I just put card board in the windows to prevent cold air and that stops the condensation. But keep an eye out for it because it can cause mold down the road if there is too much condensation. All in all this is a great product. I hope my experience helped you in your prospects. I got it from amazon warehouse and for the money well worth it. The ignitor did go out but again, warehouse deal. I have an old house that's basically wide open 1200 sq ft and it will be 80 in here on accident (25 outside and poorly insulated). Only thing that would make it better is a thermostat but, getting up to turn it down just gives me an excuse to grab another brew so, I'm fine with it. Also, I do reccomend some kind of fan to circulate. Heat the whole area that way and not just the ceiling.

I have been using Mr. Heater's products since 2015, and just like all the others, this item works great. All you will need is a brass 3/8ths pipe thread by 3/8ths gas thread elbow to hook the gas to the heater. I bought one at Ace Hardware for ~$5. Use pipe tape (that thin white tape they use to make sure there are no leaks!) and tighten it up. After that, just put the legs on and set it upright. Insert the included battery, put the dial on PILOT, and depress it. It may take up to a minute before the gas makes it to the thermocouple, but once it gets there, the thing lights and stays lit. I prefer the type with the ceramic heating blocks in them vs the open flame. The blocks hold and disperse heat long after the flame shuts down. I've had both kinds, and there IS A DIFFERENCE in heating ability. I lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (less than thirty miles from Lake Superior and its monster winds!) for seven years in a 2700 sq foot house, and all I had was two of these to keep the place warm. I had one in the basement that kept the basement warm and warmed the floor of the main floor area. The second heater was on the main floor. Heat rises, so it kept the main floor warm and the heat ran up the stairway to the upper floor. I bought this one as a backup device for the winter... just in case. I assembled it, tested it, and now it waits to be moved into the first-line heater status!

We have an 80 year old home in the north east. We needed to add a heat source to our open basement with concrete floors and cinder block walls -where the temperature is consistently between ~55-58 year round. Electric space heaters were not cutting it. I decided to give this propane heater (Mr. Heater F299830 30k BTU) a try and very glad I did. It took minutes to get it all together and hooked up to a BBQ propane tank. I felt a surge of radiant heat immediately once I got it turned on…FANTASTIC! I read previous reviews carefully before purchasing the unit and related parts and recommend you do as well. My unit did not ship with a fitting to connect to the propane hose. Based on review recommendations, I purchased the F276262 3/8 inch connector and a 12 ft. hose w/ regulator to connect to BBQ tank (Mr. Heater 12-feet hose/assembly with Restricted flow soft nose P.O.L.). These parts work great. (TIP: the threads on the hose that connects to the tank are REVERSED!) However, you should consider where you will be placing the unit. If on floor, you may want to get a 90-degree connector. The inlet for the connector is on the bottom facing the ground. The unit on its feet only sits about 3 inches off the ground. Your hose would get pinched. To mitigate, you can mount the unit on the wall with the included bracket or set the unit on bricks/blocks to raise it off the ground a few additional inches to not pinch the hose. I have mine on two landscaping bricks currently but I will be mounting on the wall soon. My first propane heater – had absolutely no idea what my burn/draw rate would be. So for the first tank, I kept track. Started with a freshly-filled 4 lb BBQ tank. In total, the tank lasted 31 hours that spanned three consecutive calendar days. My first three hours were at setting 1, the remainder of the time was set between 1.5 and 2. There are 5 total heat settings on the dial. On setting 1, the temperature was about 68. On 1.5 was over 70 .. and setting 2 was 74.3 (TOASTY!). Temperature readings were taken from two positions – on my desk which is about 9 feet to the right of the heater and on a post about 12 feet in front. The heat absolutely radiates from this thing. You can feel the warmth on your skin from many feet away. The heat produced far exceeds that of my unreliable pellet stove! I was hooked on the unit within minutes of turning it on and quickly realized I didn’t want to run to fill tanks multiple times a week so I started looking for more permanent solutions. Propane companies would LOVE to lease you their tank. When they do, they lock you in to a high price of propane with a specific buy amount ($3.15 gallon * 180 gallon minimum/yr OR $100+ tank rental fee). If you can afford it, you can simply buy a tank and have it installed by the propane company or a handy man. When you own it, you’re free to shop around and get the best price at the time of fill-up. I’m going with the purchase option of a 120 gallon tank (holds 96 g. of propane/80% rule). The tank, the installation, the first fill-up, and the price of the unit + hose comes to $2K. If I rented the tank, would have been less than $1k. 120 gallon tank holds 24-4 gallon BBQ tanks worth of propane. At my burn rate described above, I’m looking at 744 hours of warmth and comfort from 96 gallons. Estimating inhabiting the space for 13 hr/day which comes to about 390 hours per month – one fill-up will last ~57 days. (96g * $2.9 / 57) = $4.88 /day… which is actually a little less than what was added to my electric bill last month from trying to use 1500 watt space heaters.

we bought this stove in september. Am very pleased. I also bought the flexible hose kit. Everything needed to set it up was in it. Love that it has a thermostat. We needed the stove for backup because we have wood heat but are getting up in age. Once the stove kicks on it doesn't take long to start warming the house. The only thing i will have to get used to is all the burners coming one at one time. The last stove we had one, three or five burners came on but since this stove has a thermostat they all come on. But i can tell this stove is heating much better.

Within 24 hours of turning it on, the heat has penetrated every nook and cranny that it's going to and you will find yourself using far less natural gas than you expected. Using the numbers off the manufacturer's web site, it's $105 per month to run 24/7 on 5 plaques, never shutting it off. On 3 plaques, again never shutting it off, it's $62 per month. And we do shut it off when it warms up during the day. This is with our current gas rate of 47.9 cents per therm. I am in awe of how warm this thing keeps our house on such low settings. We had chronic problems with our furnace for weeks in the dead of winter; the lows ranged from 27 to forty-something every night and we were constantly freezing. No longer. This heater is all we need. Our house was built in 1930 and has no insulation. Now we are comfortable all the time. Our heater is either on 1 plaque - as it is now when it's 52 outside - or 3, when it gets below 45 or so. With feet, connection adapters and pipes (purchased locally), tax, and all the little extras, it was just under $300 to get it up and running. Our next door neighbor is paying $350 a month to heat her house with electric space heaters. I've met three other people who have natural gas infrared heaters and they all rave about them just as I'm doing. This brand, another brand, that isn't nearly as important as how well natural gas (or liquid propane) infrared heaters work. The heat is not dry and nasty but VERY cozy and comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this model.

Man I love KozyWorld. You get what you pay for. This is pure quality. Put this one in my basement and in the past 3 years a 30K BTU in my living room and an 18K BTU in the upstairs(so 3 total). Bought this one for the basement cause 3 weeks ago someone hit a pole and the power was out for 4.5 hours and the temp was -8. These are great if all you have is gas and no power.

We are full time 5ivers that live in Northern Idaho. We live about 4000ft and have used our RV furnace combined with space heaters for years. We adapted. My therapist suggested I do something's to make me happy. I bought this heater. WOW does it make heat!! Incredible walls of quiet heat! Just unbelievable smooth brow beading heat!! I feel foolish for not doing this years ago. I’ve found happiness at last. My wife is both happy and mad. Happy with the heater and mad at me for being happy with the heater! Easy to install and setup(I might have got carried away)don’t let the settings with a manometer intimidate you. You can do it. As I mentioned I’m never impressed with anything, but I’m a big enough man to admit I was wrong. This is one impressive heater!! I’m really happy with it!!

Heater is great. I had concerns at first when I ordered it because they said 5200' was max. I'm running it at 7600' no issues running great. I'm using it as primary heat source in my 32' fith wheel camper. It's a joy to not have to worry about the batteries and all the noise the camper furnace made. I have a invert in the camper with solar so power is no object. Matter of fact running it 7hr the last two nights it's only drawn 1% of the total batteries capacity. As for propane I don't know yet. This is absolutely fantastic I couldn't be happier.

Exactly what I wanted. It was easy to install but I took a month to do it as I read the annual several times with a highlighter and watched You Tube videos on how to install a gas (propane) pipe connection, had to go to Lowes for a flexible connection and then a local propane vendor for a fitting Lowes did not have in stock. Then I used a piece of granite I removed from my kitchen and took it to the granite place and had them cut it to size (35" W x 17" D) to use as a base on a wall to wall carpet location where I had removed an open flame heater. Then I watched You Tube again for info on how to drill two 1/4" holes to mount the unit onto the granite. I started those holes with a carbide/tungsten bit I got at Lowes and it took forever to go about 1/16" into the granite. But I wanted an exact location for the starting holes. Then i used the 1/4" diamond drill I got at Lowes and it centered on the starting spots exactly and went through 30centimeters of the granite like butter. But you must keep the bit wet at the drilling generates a lot of heat. It will boil the water. I used a spray bottle but some examples showed making a small putty dam around the drill hole. Then I used the yellow teflon tape to secure the seal on the pipe threads. The manual did not exactly match the unit so I called tech support and they walked me through the altitude adjustment (I am at 3000') and everything works perfectly. By the way, I plugged it into an extra battery computer backup unit I had so blinking power in the middle of the night would not shut down the unit. The factory technician thought that was an excellent idea. It solved my need for more heat better disbursed around a large room than the old unit it replaced. I highly recommend the unit.

I have been using it for a few months now, and the following is my experience using two similar MARTIN propane heaters each rated at 8000 btus, which were installed in different rooms. Ignited gas burns inside a sealed chamber within the heater that vents to the outdoors through piping that comes packaged with each heater. The installer must cut the piping in accordance to the width of the exterior wall upon which the heater will be mounted. Once the heater is turned on there is a crackling sound, which dissipated after several days of use, and which I discovered is caused by the expansion of the sheet metal and the porcelain covering the walls of the burn chamber. The porcelain unfortunatelly is a very thin layer that cracks easily and then falls away into the bottom of the chamber. In time the sheet metal will rust and corrode, so I am expecting the life cycle of this heater to be at most about 10 years or so, and much less if you mount the unit near the seashore, as salt spray will hasten the corrosion. That said, the heater heats up quickly and brings the 156 square foot room, which has a 7 foot ceiling, to a comfortable temperature range, with approximatelly 6-8 degrees temperature rise within 2 hours. The first 6 or 7 times the heater was used, also released a slight burnt smell, which I think was caused by slight dust and the curing of the paint on the heater's grill and casing, in time this smell dissipates, therefore it is a good idea to have a window open or a small room fan to ventilate the room, these initial times the heater is used. Overall I have found this to be a nice heater to have for those chilly mornings. Further, it is also a comfort to know that I am prepared in case there is a power outage, and our main heating equipment is not operational.

We bought this heater for our small cabin in West Virginia. First let me say it works great.....now. We had to have the gas guys come out to the cabin twice because the pilot light would not stay on (both times at a service charge). We had 6 days left to return the heater, we called the company and explained what was going on and that we needed to return it and ask what was the procedure. The gentleman on the phone said that what we were experiencing was a known issue, what we needed to do was remove the knob/switch (like your stove knob) from the heater and insert small "pea" size aluminum foil or paper. This would shim it enough to keep the rod pushed down and keep the pilot light lit.....we did this and it worked (ours required two pea size balls of aluminum foil). I have a few issues with this #1 if this was a KNOWN issue why were we not told of this when it was ordered #2 why was there not a retrofitted part sent along with this #3 how in the world do these heaters make it out of quality control with this issue? I've answered three different questions that all pertain the same issue we had. The heater works nice, we like it but I'm not a fan of the company. These things are not cheap, no mention of compensating us for the charges we incurred trying to get it fixed in the first place. I would recommend these just be aware you may have issues with this. It would be awesome if the company would send us the correct parts free of charge.

Not 5 star worthy but close. I would add that this is a pretty good little unit for heating a small space, installation is pretty strait forward if you follow the instructions, there are You Tube videos out there that also do a great job of explaining how to install. I do like the window for seeing the flame, it gives a nice ambiance to my cabin, it heats well and the flame automatically adjusts up and down to meet the thermostat setting. Some on here have stated it is not very good quality, I would have to agree with that statement as far as the outer shell and back is concerned, the front cover is flimsy and held onto the aluminum portion of the front with snap on washers of which half had fallen off during shipping, also, the back was slightly bent mainly due to poor shipping and handling. I was able to find all the washers and reinstall them as well as straiten the back with some hand manipulation, in my opinion, for the money, they should make this unit a little more sturdy. all and all, I am satisfied with its performance. I have about a weeks run time in temperatures near 0 Fahrenheit in a 200 square foot cabin with 14 foot ceiling and a 100 square foot loft at the time of this review, it has easily kept the temperature at 69 Degrees and it is working as advertised.

I did not want to rely on the electric heat pump on the ductless system that came with my tiny house since I live in an area where winter temps are below zero on a regular basis. I was familiar with Rinnai products since I had previously purchased a Rinnai gas water heater. This product was the perfect size and since the house is a total of 400 square feet, the specs claimed that it would heat the entire space. I installed it myself but the installation instructions that came with the product were not great. In searching the internet I found a YouTube video that clearly demonstrated how to install. I watched that a couple of times and without that video I would have been lost and would never have been able to self install. With the video the installation was very easy and straight forward. It took me less then one hour to install and get it running. My tiny house was delivered in January and the temps were in the teens and less every day. The first thing I did was to install the Rinnai wall heater. Once installed I turned it on and set it to 68 and left it for several hours. The outside temp was 10. When I came back a few hours later the interior temp throughout the entire tiny house was 68. It is now the end of February and it has been on and heating for over a month and it has been perfect. I am totally confused when I read reviews that complain about the noise. My unit is almost completely silent at all times and performs perfectly even when the outside temps dropped to 18 below zero. The heat is pretty much even throughout the house even in the bedroom which is in the back. My house has an upstairs loft and that is warm also which is not surprising since the heat naturally rises. This is the perfect heating unit for tiny houses like mine and so far (fingers crossed) I can not find anything about this product that I do not like.

Item arrived with a corner ding affecting the front cover and the left side cover. From the appearance of the box, it was obviously from rough handling during shipping. An item as heavy as this deserves more protective packaging than this one had, so I only give it 4 stars. The Samsonite suitcase gorilla works at every delivery company these days (yeah, the 70's commercial). I will update the review after it is up and running. The dings are cosmetic only, not affecting function. I'm hoping I can find replacements that aren't too expensive so I don't have to look at the ding for the life of the heater. Update - I found replacement panels for the dinged front and side at Supplyhouse. Reasonably priced, but order was supply-side delayed. Installed heater, works like a champ. I recommend ordering the wall thermostat option. The on-board temp control is adjustable only in 2 degree increments. The temp sensor is mounted at the lower back of the heater. The control displays the room temp and set temp. The room temp was always about 4 degrees lower than the actual room temp and slow to respond, over heating the room before cycling off. This is due to the sensor location. After installing the wall stat kit and my thermostat, the temp stays exactly at the set point. It should come with the remote wall mount kit and a tstat. Otherwise, this is a high quality, efficient appliance and I recommend it.
