Lazio are working hard on a deal for Fluminense midfielder Alexsander in this month’s transfer window, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The Biancocelesti had a number of highs and lows in the first half of their 2023-24 season, suffering some uncharacteristic losses in Serie A but progressing to the Champions League knockout stages.

Maurizio Sarri’s side sit just a point behind fourth place Fiorentina and will fight hard to secure a top four finish in the second half of this campaign. They’ve been quiet so far in the January transfer window, not bringing in any reinforcements so far.

Di Marzio details how Lazio are negotiating a possible deal with Fluminense for Alexsander, who has a €15m price tag. The Roman side are trying to lower this, rarely spending heavily in the winter window.

The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder is an emerging talent in the Fluminense squad, scoring two goals and providing two assists across 39 games, mostly operating in front of the defence.
