Despite having a very solid free agency period so far, the Los Angeles Lakers still need help at the center position.

Once they had come to terms with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Gabe Vincent and Jaxson Hayes, they had the intention of adding another center to their roster. Mo Bamba, a 7-footer they had traded for in February, was mentioned as a possibility to get re-signed, but he will now be headed to the Philadelphia 76ers.

One candidate for the center position as far as the Lakers are considered, according to Jake Weinbach, is Christian Wood.

Wood isn’t much of a defensive presence, and at 6-foot-9 and 214 pounds, he seems undersized defensively against elite centers such as Nikola Jokic. But he can certainly score and hit from the outside.

Over the last three seasons, Wood put up 18.1 points a game while shooting 50.9 percent overall and 38.1 percent from 3-point range.
