LIV’s civil war! Brooks Koepka turns on teammate Matthew Wolff, saying he has ‘WASTED his talent’ and he has ‘given up on him’ after he quit May’s Washington event mid-tournament
Brooks Koepka is apparently not happy with LIV teammate Matthew Wolff, and made his thoughts on the matter crystal clear ahead of the league’s event this week in Hertfordshire, England.
Wolff withdrew a round early from the Saudi-backed league’s event in Washington DC in May, citing an undisclosed injury, and the 24-year-old has struggled of late.
‘I mean, when you quit on your round, you give up and stuff like that, that’s not competing,’ Koepka told Sports Illustrated of his Smash GC teammate.
‘I’m not a big fan of that. You don’t work hard. It’s very tough. It’s very tough to have even like a team dynamic when you’ve got one guy that won’t work, one guy is not going to give any effort, he’s going to quit on the course, break clubs, gets down, bad body language, it’s very tough. I’ve basically given up on him—a lot of talent, but I mean the talent’s wasted.’
Wolff responded by telling the publication, ‘I’m here, you know, trying to do what I can to play the best round of golf and that’s going to help the team.

Prior to his early withdrawal in DC, Wolff had finished tied-30th or worse in three straight outings in Adelaide, Singapore and Tulsa.
Wolff told Sports Illustrated that he was healthy.
Smash GC, which is captained by Koepka, also includes Brooks’ brother Chase Koepka and Jason Kokrak.
