Los Angeles Clippers rookies Kobe Brown and Jordan Miller were among the players that recently took part in a run at UCLA, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
The university often serves as a venue for workouts and scrimmages with so many players staying in the area throughout the summer months. Players like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, John Wall and several others have pulled up in the past to get some work in.
The Clippers were the latest team to arrange some runs at UCLA with Robert Covington, Bones Hyland, Terance Mann and KJ Martin among those that participated with Brown and Miller.
Brown, the 30th pick, debuted with the Clippers in the NBA Summer League, averaging 15.2 points, seven rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals in five games. He had his best outing on July 14 with 35 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists.
The Clippers signed Miller to a two-way contract last week after drafting him 48th overall. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in five appearances in summer league and had his best game on July 8: 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
The open run at UCLA gave the two first-year players an opportunity to hit the court with their new teammates. Their roles next season are unclear but they’re already getting the chance to build some chemistry with the team as they transition to the NBA.
